The elephant is a huge animal. It is a mammal. It lives in Africa and Asia; in the grassland.
The elephant's body is covered with hard fur. It has got long legs, a trunk and a long tail. It can sleep for 2 hours. It has a strong memory. It weighs about 7000 kilograms. The female usually cares from 1 to 2 babies.
The elephant is a herbivore; it feeds on grass. It may live around 70 years on the average.
